Zafar Medical Clinic

The main challenge of this 140-square-meter medical clinic was accommodating three different healthcare functions within a compact floor area while maintaining the independence and efficiency of each department. The program included a beauty clinic, a surgery unit, and a dental clinic, each requiring two adjacent treatment spaces with specific technical and functional needs. In addition, three structural columns located at the center of the plan and the extensive mechanical infrastructure required for each medical specialty presented significant design constraints.

The project approached these limitations as opportunities to shape the spatial organization. Rather than allowing the structural and technical requirements to dominate the design, the plan was developed around them to create a clear and efficient layout. Circulation was prioritized from the earliest design stages, resulting in a fluid sequence of spaces that minimizes unnecessary movement while maximizing the usable area of each department. The arrangement also allows the different medical functions to coexist without compromising privacy or operational efficiency.

Another important objective was to establish a clear transition between the busy commercial corridor outside the clinic and the calm atmosphere expected in a healthcare environment. The entrance was therefore designed as a spatial threshold rather than a simple access point. Curved architectural forms, integrated lighting, and a restrained material palette gradually separate visitors from the noise and activity of the shopping center, creating a sense of comfort before entering the treatment areas.

To improve spatial legibility, color was introduced as a wayfinding strategy. Each medical department is identified by a distinct color, helping patients intuitively recognize different functional zones while strengthening the overall identity of the interior.

By integrating circulation, structure, technical requirements, and architectural expression into a unified design, the project transforms a compact and constrained floor plate into a functional, welcoming, and human-centered healthcare environment that balances operational efficiency with a calm and reassuring spatial experience.
