Hooghout is a residential building that was a joint private commission developed by the construction group Het Hooghout. The building contains homes, a commercial space and an underground car park. On a plot on the edge of Calenberger Neustadt, close to the city centre, a total of 135 subsidized, cooperative and freehold apartments and a children's day nursery were built by Stefan Forster and his team. The new building takes its cue from the typical 19th-century block-edge development common in the vicinity, the design of each façade adapted slightly in response to the different situations. This house is an architectural reflection of an actual time . Our goal was in receiving visual balanced combination of sturdy monolithic and transparent blocks. Space, formed by concrete volumes, is fіlled by glass. Thereby, living and kitchen premises were formed. Caption   The hallway connects master block with guest bedrooms and has glass ceiling and walls. There is a home office under the garage and 3 bedrooms on the second floor. Caption The house was conceived like a durable modern building, which combaines concrete, wooden and glass volumes. It is a rebuilding of a rental housing that was built on a deformed site with a road and a step. It was required to plan a two-family house and a one-room rental house without waste, using the maximum volume that could be built on this site.In the plan, a semi-underground rental dwelling unit that opens on the road side will be created using the steps of the land, and a two-story wooden structure will be placed on it to create a building with one basement floor and two floors above ground.
