In central London, England, Perkins&Will has designed a landmark smart, sustainable head office building for Sidara, a global collaborative of specialist firms providing services in architecture, engineering, sustainability consulting, digital strategy, and energy systems. 150 Holborn replaces an old 1980s office block and provides a shared company headquarters for Sidara’s London-based brands, including Dar, Perkins&Will, Portland Design, Currie & Brown, Introba, Maffeis Engineering, and Penspen. In Maastricht, Netherlands, a heritage building has been transformed into a cutting-edge, sustainable headquarters for dsm-firmenich, a global developer and producer of nutrition, health, and beauty solutions. Commissioned by developers EDGE and 3W Real Estate, Rotterdam-based architectural studio Broekbakema led on the project’s architectural renovations and new-build elements, while Delft-based Fokkema & Partners Architecten designed the interior architecture. Detail: Mass timber structure of the Bjergsted Financial Park

Occupying a triangular lot, the bank headquarters by Helen & Hard constructed in southern Norway is one of the largest wooden buildings in Europe. The primary mass timber structure of 13,200 square meters is a holistic composition of several wood products and species chosen based on their geometries and structural capabilities. BIG unveils a playful, wooden, colourful factory for Vestre in the middle of the Norwegian woods

In Manor, Norway, The Plus is a new furniture factory by BIG for furniture manufacturer Vestre. Incorporating an Experience Centre and a 300-acre public park, the colourful development celebrates the clean, carbon-neutral fabrication of Vestre furniture, setting a high standard for manufacturing facilities and the high-efficiency production of the future.  Einar Aslaksen A total of 7000 m2 in floor area, the production facility is constructed of local mass timber, low-carbon concrete, and recycled steel. UCL Student Centre

The Student Centre is built on what was the last piece of undeveloped land on Gordon Street, adjacent to the Bloomsbury Theatre. The sensitive site sits within the Bloomsbury Conservation Area and is adjacent to Grade I and II listed buildings. A collaborative approach was adopted for the project and the design team worked with planners and stakeholders. Consultations were carried out with a range of external stakeholders and neighbours, with plans strongly supported by the Design Council CABE and Historic England.
