Haapsalu Castle

The long and colorful history of Haapsalu Castle began in the 13th century, when it was built. Since the 17th century the main castle has been in ruins. Our conservation and renovation design has resulted in a journey along the walls and within the castle, inviting the guests to take a look at the castle structure and the picturesque town of Haapsalu from an unusual vantage point high above, and to experience the medieval environment from another level. Friars Mill

A catalytic regeneration project within the Leicester Waterside Situated on the banks of the River Soar, Friars Mill is Leicester’s oldest wool mill, dating back to the 18th century. Our work started with a feasibility study, examining appropriate uses for the existing buildings while als... More

Most houses at the end of terrace terminate in a blank brick side elevation, most notably the building at the rear of the garden, along Harvist Road. On this property however, the terrace turns the corner and continues onto the Harvist Road elevation by using a distinct corner bay window. The new extension seeks to repeat the device of the corner window. The modern interpretation is intended to link the elevations as if they were continuous, akin to the... More

Brondesbury Road Extension

The new works for Brondesbury Road related to the extension and reorganisation of the ground floor apartment of a three storey Victorian conversion. The proposal sought to continue the existing rear extension creating a larger more usuable space incorporating a dining area with increased connection to the garden. The scale of the new works remains subservient to the existing property, with the extension itself a single volume extending only at ground floor level. The relationship of its mass to the existing extension and building as a whole remains minimal. Internally, the new extension adds to the existing space to create one single open plan layout. This space provides a new kitchen and dining space with direct connections to the existi... More
