Wedge Tail

Designed for a builder client – who undertook the project during lock down – this is an example of the transformation possible when you consider an entire site as a building canvas. Additionally, it shows how outdoor spaces can be rhythmically stitched into and around a building plan. And how sheltering connections – here in the form of a complex timber screen that continues our interest in controlling light and shadow effects – creates more liminal transitions that dissolve the distinction between being inside and out. Private Residence in Kifisia by Panos Nikolaidis

A modernist residence in Kifisia unfolds through terraced volumes, deep overhangs and a sculpted perforated façade that mediates between privacy and openness. Light, shadow and vegetation become active elements of the architecture, extending domestic life toward the garden while filtering the surrounding urban context.Set within the leafy residential fabric of Kifisia, this single-family house is conceived as a composition of layered volumes, terraces and sheltered outdoor spaces that negotiate between domestic privacy and an open relationship with the garden. The building follows the natural slope of the site, allowing its mass to step gradually across the terrain while creating a sequence of terraces that extend the interior spaces... More

Anand Kunj

This 1200 square feet tailored apartment integrates traditional ideals with the client’s idea of creating a home which reflects their unique lifestyle and is welcoming and cozy. The design language of the house has vibrant touch of Indian culture. The design palette across the home is teakwood, white marble and neutral shades accented by pops of color.  Jeevan Jyot The scope to alter the shell was limited and thus challenging to create a stimulating and vibrant interior space. The main idea was to invite more natural light and make the living room more spacious and welcoming. Addition of slit window in the dining area and creation of an open kitchen filled the space with more  luminescence. The balcony was made part of... More

Seeta Damodaram Residence

A Home Composed in Earth and Silence There’s a quiet rhythm that flows through Seeta Damodaram — a home designed as a soulful retreat where space, material, and light come together to form a melody of their own. The house doesn’t announce itself with grandeur; it reveals its beauty slowly, like the opening notes of a familiar raga. Every turn, texture, and shadow is composed to evoke warmth — a feeling of being held, grounded, and inspired. Caption Design Intent and Philosophy Conceived by Studio Timescape, Seeta Damodaram is guided by the belief that architecture, like music, is not about form alone — it is about emotion, rhythm, and resonance. The intent was to create a home that feels lived-in and fe... More

Villa ENSO

Villa ENSO is a contemporary residence located in La Reserva de Sotogrande, designed by Manuel Ruiz Moriche, co-founder and Creative Director of ARK Architects. Conceived as an architecture of continuity, the project explores the relationship between space, light, nature, and emotional wellbeing through a language of soft geometries and fluid spatial transitions. Inspired by the symbolic concept of the circle, ENSO unfolds organically within its natural surroundings, opening toward panoramic views of the golf course and the Mediterranean Sea. The villa is carefully integrated into the topography, creating a seamless dialogue between architecture and landscape. Hidden courtyards introduce natural light and ventilation into the interio... Tavaros at Little Forest

Located on a corner lot in the Little Forest Hills neighborhood, this residence is shaped as much by its constraints as by its opportunities. The dual frontage introduced a series of restrictions—setbacks, visibility, and exposure—but also opened up a unique condition: the ability to redefine how the house meets the street. Rather than centering the entry on a singular front façade, the design shifts the focus to the side yard, transforming it into the primary threshold of the home. Robert Tsai Robert Tsai Becca Lee Becca Lee Becca Lee The front door is integrated within this side yard, creating an arrival sequence that is intentional and gradual. Instead of moving directly from street to interio... More

SKINNY HOUSE

SKINNY HOUSE. A house on an 8-metre-wide plot in a post-punk landscape. When we put on SKINNY jeans, we expect them to be flexible and well-fitting. This ensures comfort and freedom of movement despite their small size. The same is true of the house on Znicz Street in Warsaw, which had to fit into an elongated trapezoidal plot with a front width of 12 metres and a width of 8 metres at its end. Is it possible to design a functional and visually attractive house in such conditions? Can a family of five function normally in such a house? Is it possible? Many investors ask themselves these questions when looking for a place for their own home in a big city based on rational financial conditions. Caption Oskar Tuszyński SKIN... More

Single-family house in Cascais

The house is developed perpendicular to Rua Professor Agostinho da Silva and occupies the central area of the plot. This proposal aims to construct a single-family home that will fit into the lot, oriented along an East-West axis. Caption Caption Caption Caption Caption Caption Caption From Rua Professor Agostinho da Silva, the only pedestrian access to the house is at elevation 100.35m. Once inside the lot, a regulation-compliant ramp begins, leading to elevation 100.48m. These values were determined to align the ground floor as closely as possible with the natural terrain profile and significantly reduce the elevation difference between the East and West boundaries. LOFT S

The restoration and enhancement of historic buildings are among the most fascinating challenges in interior architecture. When given the opportunity to work on a loft located on the ground floor of a 17th-century villa, originally a former convent, the goal is not only to preserve the authenticity of the place but also to adapt it to contemporary living needs. © Barbara Corsico © Barbara Corsico In this case, the project is a fusion of historical charm and the idea of living in a surprising space, where every element is designed to highlight the beauty of the environment and the uniqueness of the living experience, without ever compromising the original structure. Located on the ground floor of the villa, this loft stan... More

House With a Square Window

The project involves the architectural and functional completion of an existing building located in a rural area of Fondi (LT), where, at the time of commissioning, the structure and laminated wood roof had already been built. Willem Pab The clients, a young family, requested the design of a single-family home with bright and fluid spaces that would reflect the needs of contemporary living. The challenge was to meet these needs while starting from a pre-existing structure with a layout and volume typical of conventional construction. Willem Pab The design strategy focused on targeted interventions by inserting new architectural elements that would disrupt the rigid original layout. Willem Pab From a floor plan perspective,... More
