The wide, regular floor plan and the large glazed surfaces—an inheritance from the building’s former productive function—ensure a rational distribution of spaces and abundant natural light. The living area, oriented to the south-east, is conceived as an open and fluid environment, while the sleeping area is more intimate and private. A central element, represented by a column clad in fluted panels, acts as both a visual and spatial focal point of the house. With this project, we had the opportunity to design a vacation home in the renowned town of Peschiera, situated on the shores of Lake Garda. Inspired by decades of travel to Kenya, our clients wanted a home that would reflect their love for The Continent and serve as a museum for the artifacts they’ve gathered. The Africa Safari style home is an homage to their deep love and commitment to Kenya, complete with a traditional, circular rondavel and museum room.
