Gringley Hall is a classic English home that required a more modern addition to house a bespoke kitchen and dining area with access to the garden. The rear extension has been constructed using the same kind of large “off-white” bricks featured in the original home. A safety railing on the River Thames. London’s longest pier, Royal Wharf includes a 162m² viewing platform for unparalleled views along the River Thames, now surrounded by a glass balustrade safety railing.  Like many river-side locations, the view is spectacular and is preserved for the enjoyment of those walking by. The site location, coupled with the tenant’s large staff compliment, led to a somewhat unconventional office to warehouse ratio of 60:40 instead of the more typical 90:10 ratio. The project proposes the reinterpretation of an enlarged intervention area, in which the construction of the new secondary school building represents the inclusion of an additional pavilion within a large park dedicated to sports and exercise as the main tool for prevention and health promotion.
