Suzhou Dushu Lake Hospital, located in Suzhou Industrial Park, covers a total area of 156,000 square meters, with a total planned construction area of 521,000 square meters and a total planned bed capacity of 3,000, consisting of a general hospital with 800 beds and a construction area of 131,000 square meters in the first phase and various disciplinary centers that will be expanded in the future. Description Located in Qinglong Mountain in the southeast of Nanjing, the ecological features of its location, such as mountains, forests and lakes, is what makes Nanjing Public Medical Center so special. Its topology characteristic can be described as higher in the west and lower in the east, with two valleys in the north and the middle, making it easy to connect with the arterial road in the east, while contributing to the charm of the unique feature of the mountainous area. The design of Majimoto dispensary has been inspired by the research conducted in the village regarding health care facilities and evolution of construction technologies in this area. Majimoto is a village located in the Southern part of the Arusha region. The climate in this area is dry for 60% of the year. The closest dispensary is about 3km from the village and the only transport is oxen cart and recently motorcycles. This has further encouraged the villagers to prefer traditional doctors and midwives over hospitalized medical care. HED leads the rehabilitation of the existing Medical Sciences Building, (MSB) in collaboration with STUDIOS Architecture and GPR Planners Collaborative, Inc.  The multi-phased project replaces the older building components and creates a new state-of-the-art learning and research center for the Colleges of Medicine and Pharmacy. After the University’s comprehensive analysis was completed, it was determined that the most cost effective way to rehabilitate the 800,000 GSF of the MSB would be to first design and construct a building addition with about 200,000 GSF.  This multi-phase approach would reduce total project costs by allowing existing labs with major design flaws to be redesigned to accommodate new functions with less s... On an elevated site, Milstein Family Heart Center bows gently outward toward the view, drawing attention to the extraordinary landscape of the Hudson River and New Jersey Palisades beyond.Despite the necessary density of the plan, natural light is plentifully present in the interior.
