STUBN | FRASDORFER HÜTTE

Nestled in the foothills of the Chiemgau Alps, the Frasdorfer Hütte has been reimagined by BAND Architektur as a place where architecture, food, and landscape converge. The renovation reinterprets a traditional mountain hut for contemporary use — as a restaurant with guest rooms — without losing the raw, regional character that defines it. Daniel Breidt Daniel Breidt On the exterior, a shingle façade was restored alongside a reconstructed entrance door with its original historic fittings, while a reinterpreted alpine balcony railing bridges old craft and new form. Inside, lime plaster walls, a reclaimed and resanded wood floor, and an original tiled stove ground the space in its history, while an open fire... More

Hotel Kristberg

Hotel Kristberg integrates sensitively into the alpine landscape. The design is based on the interplay of core and envelope: a stair core of bush-hammered exposed concrete forms the structural backbone, while a skin of glass and black-stained timber ensures transparency. Christian Brandstätter Traditional materials such as wood and textile elements are reinterpreted in a modern way and shape surfaces, furnishings, and details. Salon, bar, and lobby merge into a continuous, open spatial layout. Christian Brandstätter Raphaela Seifert All 27 suites are designed to frame the surrounding landscape. Vertical wooden slats act as a screen between public and private spaces. Large, floor-to-ceiling luminaires create a warm... More

MERCURE BANGKOK SURAWONG

The Mercure Bangkok Surawong Hotel is a sensitive renovation project that reimagines an existing structure with deep respect for its architectural and urban context. Situated in a historic neighborhood shaped by mid-century modernism, the design takes a conservative approach—aiming not to stand out, but to belong. Rather than imposing a new identity, the intervention restores and reinterprets, preserving the rhythm and scale of the streetscape while quietly elevating the building’s presence.   A key challenge was the absence of a service lane—typical in older urban developments. Instead of compromising the street-level experience, the architects relocated back-of-house functions above the parking level, freeing the... More

HOTEL HILLARYS AKASAKA

Since the building will open in the spring of 2018, before the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, we thought it necessary to design the building with “JAPANESE STYLE” as the core, considering the response of inbound customers. Akasaka, the site of the building, is a very chaotic city with convenient transportation, a business scene, entertainment, and deep spots. Therefore, I used the characteristics of this city as inspiration for the concept of “MIXTURE.” While using Japanese culture and crafts as a motif, I added or removed different elements to create a gap in the image of a dressed-down version of traditional Japanese crafts, aiming to create a “JAPANESE STYLE” with a sense of chaos typical of Akasaka. PNOE' BREATHING LIFE

Pnoe’ Breathing Life, was an overall renovation and addition of new buildings in an existing hotel that was built in 1968. In its time the hotel was one of the first Bungalow hotels with Swimming pool in Heraklion. The Greek Modernism movement's influence was apparent in the architecture of the original buildings. That influence, in combination with the narratives that were given from the client for the creation of an ambient atmosphere that connects with nature and the environment of Crete, were the driving forces for the Design Concept of the hotel. Full Moon / Hotel complex in Zakynthos Island

Inspiration for the concept of the hotel came from the famous painting Full Moon by the artist Yannis Moralis. The painting is a superb example of advanced geometric abstraction, distinguished by solid compositional structure, purity of form, harmonious proportions and dynamic rhythm of flowing curvilinear themes and interlocking patterns. Both the geometric shapes of the composition and the colour palette of the painting were used in the design of the hotel. iraisynn attinom studio iraisynn attinom studio iraisynn attinom studio Yannis Moralis was a multifaceted art figure who was received many distinctions in Greece and abroad. Eco-Z • An Ecological retreat in Zante

In the island of Zante, the architectural studio Iraisynn Attinom embarked on a design proposal for a hotel complex. Tasked with envisioning the facades, reception building, and interiors, the studio seamlessly embraced an ecological style that would harmonize luxury with environmental consciousness. Taking over the project after the completion of the architectural study and obtaining the building permit, Iraisynn Attinom tackled numerous constraints. iraisynn attinom studio iraisynn attinom studio The hotel complex boasted eight impeccably furnished apartments and a central restaurant-reception building. neo hut / Hotel complex in an olive garden

In the last century, during the summer time, crossing the plains and the seashore of the island of Zakynthos, one encountered different variations of an interesting ephemeral architectural form, the primitive stilt hut. This construction primarily functioned as an observation unit during agricultural work, and later as a pleasant and cool place for the residents to stay during the summer. Basic elements of the architectural composition are found in these constructions, such as the grid, the overlapping placement of similar elements, the openings towards north and east, the placement of the volume on piles for enhancing the cooling of the construction with the aim of the local winds etc. These principles influenced us for the design of the t... Hotel "Le chevalier bleu"

The bastide of Monpazier, founded in 1284 by will of Edward I, king of England, is classified among the most beautiful villages in France, and has maintained its original appearance and dimensions almost intact, presenting itself to visitors today as an authentic jewel of medieval architecture. The building transformed into a boutique hotel has gone through 8 centuries of history in a continuum of stratifications (noble palace, then bourgeois house, finally hotel), some of which have hidden - and sometimes destroyed - traces of previous eras. Magma Resort & Spa

The hotel complex is located between man-made and natural surroundings. Placed in a mild terrain near the village of Vourvoulos in Santorini, it is surrounded by traditional ’pezoules’, large areas of cultivated land that follow the altitudes and are formed with stone walls. The design approach attempts to create a built form that is created from the interplay between contradictory - complementary elements that reference the particular setting and the wider location. Organic shapes from black volcanic stones follow the curved contour lines creating a landscape that reflects the shape of the terrain. Occasionally off-white prisms that resemble the color of ‘aspa’ (volcanic ash of Santorini) appear. Christos Drazos... More

Mixed-Use Complex on Tbilisi's Left Bank

Along the history of Tbilisi’s development, the right bank of Mtkvari had more defined and regulated architectural development than the left bank. This tendency is clearly visible even today - in light of ever-growing urbanization, the left bank is developing steadily, without considering local context. Because of this, while working on this project on Samtredia Street we intended to create a precedent of correct district planning. Rendered by Paralel Visualization Studio   According to the project concept, the object will become a symbolic landmark and will enrich the city’s urban morphology with creative value. The building will have residential, commercial, recreational, and office spaces. The shape of the complex... More
