Maku

The city of Maku, which includes the mountains of Qīyeh and its Sabad, has given a special and unique feature to the city; A section of hard and sharp layers of the mountain that have slid on top of each other and formed the facade of the project was our main idea in the design of the Maku construction project. They evoke the sliding of hard layers of the mountain. Caption Caption Caption More

Saramagal House

Starting from an empty lot, in a neighbourhood without a defined identity, the result of a suburban context resulting from the absence of territorial policies for decades on the outskirts of Lisbon, it's like starting a process of metamorphosis, without harming the surroundings. We also know that our intervention will have an impact on the cohesion of the urban fabric, and the visual quality of this neighbourhood, and as such, we saw this responsibility as an opportunity to do things better and differently, always keeping in mind what we were asked to do: design a modern house that takes advantage of the landscape that characterizes this place. Modern Home on a Mountain Vineyard

In the heart of a vineyard, nestled on the side of a mountain near Sonoma, California, Bjella Architecture has fused a home and boutique winery together into a bold, modern design that is warm and inviting, yet exhibits an industrial edge fitting to its purpose. For the family, it is a home and a lifestyle that are inseparable. Tim Bjella Tim Bjella Tim Bjella Tim Bjella Inspired by the earth it rests upon, the exterior of the home draws its color palette from the rich hues of the vineyard soils and local rock outcroppings. The stone and stucco materials link the home with the land, reinforcing the home’s sense of place. The stone seamlessly flows inside where earthy concrete floors, Merlot wine-stained cabinetry,... Modern Missouri Cottage

In the heart of Missouri, a house stands as an example of a harmonious blend of architectural styles. Designed for a couple with a vision to merge four distinct styles, the architects embarked on a creative journey, inventing a new style that seamlessly merges Shinto, Shaker, Craftsman, and Contemporary elements. Tim Bjella Tim Bjella Tim Bjella Tim Bjella The house captivates onlookers with its distinctive feature – a roof seemingly suspended in mid-air, creating an illusion of weightlessness as it hovers above the structure on a transparent layer of glass. This innovative design not only adds a touch of modernity but also pays homage to the Shinto belief in the connection between the earthly and the divine. The... More

Casa TOME

Its irregular shaped terrain, spatial program and distribution combine to create a unique project, far from the common requirements, a design made by designers, for designers. Amy Bello Amy Bello Amy Bello Amy Bello Amy Bello The design seeks to generate an experience of absolute and continuous contact with the outside when inside the house, while maintaining total facade privacy. Casa Gotarrendura

Casa Gotarrendura is developed within an ecological residential complex, surrounded by more than 1200 hectares of forest. The single-family house project is based on the premise of fully respecting the existing vegetation, making it part of the project and a crucial element throughout the entire house. Amy Bello Amy Bello Exterior-wise, the house is characterized by a game between volumes and materials, where regional travertine marble harmonizes perfectly with the neutral and sober tones, while wood and steel bring contrast and emphasize key elements such as the entrance vestibule or the terraces on the upper floor. Amy Bello Amy Bello Amy Bello The project develops around a central patio, originated by an existi... More

J+B House

J+B House is an architectural intervention that saw the external restoration of a Victorian terrace with all its filigree and formality coupled with the careful and sensitive insertion of an unapologetically modern form to accommodate a series of interconnected spaces to become a framework for family living. Sara Vita Photography Sara Vita Photography The house was a free-standing 2-storey terrace form, that never received its equivalent terraced neighbours. A complete mismatch in a street of diverse free-standing cottages that stuck out like a sore thumb. It sat forward and was twice the size of its immediate neighbours. It had been stripped of its original detail and charm through a previous conversion into apartments and... More
