Campus Deleers

Campus Deleers is Europe’s first building to bring education and urban production together under one roof. Located along Brussels’ canal, the project by SMAK Architects transforms a former industrial brownfield into a mixed-use neighborhood and demonstrates how Brussels’ vision of the Productive City can be realized. The 26,000 m² campus provides education for 1,300 students while integrating a zone for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) beneath the school. The masterplan also introduces housing and a public promenade, creating a lively environment active throughout the day and evening. Philippe Van Gelooven The school is conceived as a “0–99 campus”: an inclusive place for learning, ex... More

De Hofberg

In collaboration with JEP Vastgoed and Vink Bouw, Orange Architects designed an urban infill piece between the Insulindestraat and the Hofbogenpark. De Hofberg comprises a residential building with 28 urban townhouses that completes the Spoordriehoek, while an integrated public route creates a connection between the neighborhood and the park. Conceptually, De Hofberg can be read as an intimate, landscaped sloping alley, flanked on both sides by buildings, that naturally bridges the level difference between Insulindestraat and Hofbogenpark. Shaping this artificial hill, leads to a clear programmatic separation between parking and living. Car-parking is accommodated within the hill, while the homes are situated on top of it. Raw House

Raw House is a compact mixed-use development in Seoul. The brief, written by the architect, was to create a durable structure that prioritises spatial clarity and lived experience over market expectations or visual excess.   Simone Bossi Simone Bossi Simone Bossi Simone Bossi Simone Bossi Simone Bossi In an age of blurred realities and overstimulation, where people are increasingly pushed to perform or pretend, this project offers a retreat — a home where one can feel real and at ease. To support this, materials are kept in their raw state. Concrete, stone, and timber are allowed to be what they are, not for effect, but to offer a quiet, honest presence. Nothing is covered, nothing disguised; the ar... More

AFH / Janoian Building

An award-winning medical office building noted for innovating public presence and civic character  Located in the historic and civic district of the city of Glendale, California, the site occupies a central corner along the East Broadway corridor, a commercial pedestrian-oriented street. With panoramic views of the San Gabriel mountains to the north-west, the lot faces Glendale Civic Center, a large irregular block comprising a loose patchwork of buildings from architecturally distinct periods surrounding a meandering pubic space. The art deco City Hall faces the mid-century courthouse across Broadway, stylistically unique from the levitating brutalist Department of Building and Safety, nearby the more austere corporate Police Departm... CAVALLIA

This ambitious urban project involves the revitalization of a 5.5-hectare site of the former cavalry barracks of the Polish Army. The site is located in the heart of Poznań, and the entire area, along with four buildings dating from the 19th century, is listed as a historical monument. Intuitive Workspace

The idea for this mixed-use project located in Bangalore, was context based and inspired by the architects need for an office space while retaining the residential flavor of the layout. This ground-up 4-story mixed-use building contains the architect’s office and apartments. Shamanth Patil Photography Shamanth Patil Photography Shamanth Patil Photography The minimalistic and contemporary built form is a composite structure of concrete and mild steel. The building’s appearance was also created in response to the surrounding landscape and features a kinetic facade that moves with the wind; while creating interesting shadow patterns throughout the day. By incorporating motion into architecture, the occupants have an... More

A4H

A Mute Icon: Responding to the brief of providing a commercial office building in a very formal context, the project aims to construct an authentic dichotomic image: one that can be confused for a strange civic building, too mute to be publicly engaged, but yet too eccentrically unusual to be privately used. Governing the construction of this image is the problem of mass. A simple volume cladded in a dark tinted glass curtain wall is cut diagonally into a crystalline shape, therefore creating a more idiosyncratic silhouette. A horizontally subtracted balcony slices the mass horizontally across the two main facades, and affords the medical offices with more visibility and a direct relationship with the exterior. Adjacent to the main entry at... More

Hibiya Fort Tower

From former MOAT to FORT, and a new town center This project site lies on the former outer moat of Edo Castle where the shogun lived. The bent section of the moat became the foundation of the current irregularly shaped city block, which was problematic in some respects, with its unusually configured intersection and lack of pedestrian space and greenery. Replacement of the district road and reorganization of the city block allowed for the creation of green plazas and comfortable walking spaces, and transformed the area into a high-rise complex of offices, SOHO, and shops.  TechniStaff (Kouji Okamoto) The fact that the moat used to serve as the boundary between the daimyo (feudal lord)’s mansion and the residences of mercha... Mixed-Use Complex on Tbilisi's Left Bank

Along the history of Tbilisi’s development, the right bank of Mtkvari had more defined and regulated architectural development than the left bank. This tendency is clearly visible even today - in light of ever-growing urbanization, the left bank is developing steadily, without considering local context. Because of this, while working on this project on Samtredia Street we intended to create a precedent of correct district planning. Rendered by Paralel Visualization Studio   According to the project concept, the object will become a symbolic landmark and will enrich the city’s urban morphology with creative value. The building will have residential, commercial, recreational, and office spaces. The shape of the complex... More
