Today, we can see that this tendency is evolving into "slow and customized" spaces. Jan Olbracht is a unique place on the map of Toruń gastronomy. This restaurant with a brewery is situated in the heart of the Old Town, inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, on four storeys of a Gothic tenement house from the 14th Century.  The restaurant has functioned here for a dozen years or so. Having worked in the same form for years, it needed some changes and refurbishment. Our task was to redecorate the main Room on the ground floor, together with the bar and the brewhouse, the Royal Room on the first floor, as well as the conference and event space. With its blusterous and energetic populace and its chaotic cityscape, Mumbai, is unlike any city in India. The Mumbaikar culture is unique and tells a story about the city’s modern skyscrapers, from the Victoria Terminus to the Madh Fort, not unlike a catalogue of historical events, cultures and architecture. It is this idea of the passage of time, the gradation of culture and design movements in Mumbai, which the Bar Stock Exchange in CBD Belapur plays with. The Southerleigh Brewhouse celebrates the architecture and soul of the 1890s vintage building. Together with Joel Mozersky Design, we worked together to bring the gritty magnificence of the Brewhouse back to life, as if it had never shut down. Clayton Korte retained vestiges of the deep history at Pearl through the re-purposing of historic equipment into decorative and functional pieces. These icons of the past have been scattered throughout the 5,000 square foot restaurant and 2,600 square foot Brewery. The brief was to create an iconic, luxurious design that focused on intimate VIP areas, whilst still keeping a space that flowed naturally. The Club needed to have a memorable and glamorous style, with various exciting and ‘Instagramable’ features. The brief also specified the need for a smaller dance floor to ensure the space always felt full, but was surrounded by deluxe booths to serve the VIP audience the Club wanted to attract.AVRY is laid out across a thirty meter long footprint that consists of a DJ booth and dance floor, bordered by statement VIP ‘bird cages’, twelve meter long bar and additional private VIP areas towards the back.
