AGUA - Private House

AGUA is a private residence conceived as a sequence of pure volumes, controlled perspectives and changing light conditions. The entrance is deliberately concealed from the street and reached through a long, narrow passage protected by a large masonry screen. The path gradually reveals the house and culminates in a large glazed entrance. Demetrio Mancini Demetrio Mancini Demetrio Mancini Michele Biancucci Michele Biancucci The defining element of the project is the rooftop swimming pool, positioned on the second floor and characterized by an intense red bottom. Water becomes an architectural material, reflecting light onto the surrounding surfaces and illuminating the entrance passage below. Michele Biancucci... More

041BÖT

A 76-square-metre flat in a loft conversion dating from the 1990s has been completely reimagined. Where rooms, woodchip wallpaper and laminate flooring once dominated, a spacious, light-filled living area now unfolds. The floor plan opens up seamlessly towards the long glazed frontage, uniting the kitchen, dining and living areas into a single, cohesive zone. Franz Grünewald Franz Grünewald Franz Grünewald Franz Grünewald Franz Grünewald The dark mahogany-veneered ceiling sets the tone, a material reminiscent of the 1960s that runs like a common thread through all areas. Together with a sand-coloured cast floor, this creates a calm, warm colour palette reminiscent of Japanese interiors. The... More

A MATTER OF PERSPECTIVE

This project operates on the interplay between matter and perspective. When is something a space between rooms and when is it a room. Is something a floor or a kitchen. Is it inside or outside. A Matter of Perspective transforms a two-level apartment into a narrative about perception of space. Matte glass panels diffusing light and shadows, referencing the steam state of matter, and sliding partitions shifting the occupant’s perspective. Through sightlines and openings in walls the ordinary becomes extraordinary.  Giovanni Nardi The design unfolds as a sequence of shifting perspectives. Matte glass panels diffuse light and shadow throughout the apartment, while carefully positioned openings and sliding partitions continuous... More

Sensory House | Mexico

Located in Mexico, Sensory House is conceived as an immersive space dedicated to sensory experience, well-being, and introspection. Delfland Water Authority

The Delfland Water Authority is located in a historical building on the Oude Delft: the Gemeenlandshuis. The monumental part was built in 1505 as a house for Jan de Huyter. The sandstone facade was unique for that time and it was one of the few buildings to survive the 1536 city fire. More than 100 years later, the house came into the hands of the Delfland Water Authority.Over time the Water Authority has been extended to include several adjacent monumental buildings, and in 1975 a new building on the Phoenixstraat was added. In 2014, the Water Authority decided to revise its housing strategy. The most important task was to make what was once a fragmentary complex, a whole and transform it into a pleasant, flexible working environment that... More

Ferncroft Avenue, Hampstead

For this project we were approached by a boutique property investment company to undertake a complete refurbishment of this three bedroom property, creating a turnkey solution for international clientele. Retaining as many of the original features of the Victorian town house as we could, our brief was to develop this property in order to increase the net value. Further, this had to be done in a way that was saleable to the international market. As such, we approached the project with a clear goal in mind: we needed to create something that was luxury, something that was valuable and something which wouldn't alienate the clientele in terms of design. Sticking to a fairly strict colour scheme of whites/blacks/metals we ensured that... More
