NS21

An architectural design for a store and apartments. Living in old & new On Nieuwlandstraat in Tilburg stood a building whose historical façade had long been concealed. Given that this street is filled with historic buildings, we decided to restore the old façade to its original state. Image Courtesy B-too Mini-neighborhood Only the entrance to the shop is located at the front. The residences are all accessed from the rear of the building. In this way, we aim to bring life to the rear area, creating two distinct worlds: the shopping street at the front and the mini-neighborhood at the rear. Image Courtesy B-too Spacious outdoor areas In the rear area, each apartment has its own outdoor space, storage, and... More

lost in echo

dongqi Design has transformed the first floor of an old building on Anfu Road in Shanghai into a flexible and dynamic space for the brand “lost in echo.” Victor Marvillet Victor Marvillet Stemming from the intention to diminish the presence of the existing columns, the design introduces multiple rotatable mechanical triangular prism structure to freely enclose or define the space.  Victor Marvillet Victor Marvillet Victor Marvillet With careful consideration on proportion and functionality, the triangular prism has been divided into three parts vertically, with the middle section at eye levels that extends into arms of different length. From the top view, each arm can be rotated to any angle, offe... More

Oda Design Store

The design for the new store of ÔDA Design - located in the Juvevê neighborhood in Curitiba/PR - marks yet another chapter in the long standing partnership between the office and the store. At this new address, a typical neighborhood house, the brand gains more space to develop its own identity, expanding their options to showcase design pieces and processes. Eduardo Macarios Eduardo Macarios The reform was simple, with little interventions. As the building has load-bearing walls, we did not propose any changes in the organization of the space. Luckily, the main room was already unified by a previous renovation, exposed by the large metal beam in the middle of the space. Therefore, the main interventions were the revi... More

A Little Museum

In the 1960s, with the economy in development and the population expanding rapidly after World War II, a group of architects formed the Metabolism movement. Using the core structure of the building as the load-bearing device, the architects of the Metabolism movement developed diverse ways to explore the land and space.Architect Kao, the designer of the Taipei Fine Arts Museum, is one of the importantfigures of the Taiwanese Metabolism movement. Caption   The gift shop that we designed at 45 sqm, is located in the corner of the lobby. For asouvenir store which used to be the original ticket booth, it stands not only for asimple shop but also the history of the Taipei Fine Arts Museum. Here we incorporated the Metabolism concept... Yuliawave store

INTRO The concept of the store is based on natural, monochrome materials that complement each other and are responsible for the bold character of the brand. One of the inspirations was the concrete walls, which we cleaned of paint, showing the aesthetics of concrete and building structures. The lack of a large number of familiar finishing materials on the market has become a challenge for us. The initial idea of using non-finish coatings and showing the "nature" of building materials has made sense. Daniel Annenkov Planning solution The planning solution is built on two halls:main and private. They are separated from each other by a multifunctional core, which comfortably accommodates fitting rooms, an open warehouse area, a manager'... More

Il telaio

The project sees the interiors shaped by meticulously designed and produced objects, right down to the very last detail: the furnishing of the space plays a major role in creating a sophisticated yet familiar atmosphere, balanced between the past and the present, luxury and austerity, fashion and comfort. The selection of materials varies from the clean cut of the terrazzo table to the essential presence of brass, from the delicate touch of velvet to a well-defined statement of the exotic preciousness of the wallpaper. Every corner is covered by the coziness of the carpet and enriched by the brass vertical elements alterning with smoked glass planes. The aim is to recreate an intimate and welcoming atmosphere that melds disparate eras and i... More

Phat Soles

Phat Soles, 2017 The space looks more like a theater stage than an ordinary sneaker store. Intense scenic details give a mysterious feeling in an environment where the special, colorful designs of the sneakers star. Theatrical lighting and strategically placed mirrors were key elements of the design, with the result that the images were constantly changing. Cash registers, rehearsal rooms, secret rooms with limited sneakers designs are changing, revealing new spaces behind the strict metal grid, which functions as the stage of a show. Specially designed columns of black sandblasted fir wood are placed in the heart of the store, allowing the sneakers to change position depending on the mood and the different events. At the same time, the... More

Torani

Designing Torani Flagship store was one of the best design journeys we’ve had. It was exciting to have a client not interested in the modern or the luxury or the eclectic or any style that is usually seen.  Torani draws deep inspiration from Sindhi culture and its design elements and incorporated them beautifully in their clothes. The brief, hence, was simple - Sindhi Architecture. The brief was to create the space clean, void of any clutter in terms of planning the displays so as to hi-light the product mirroring the very heritage it draws inspiration from the 16th century buildings comprising of magnificent domes and beautiful curvilinear arches. The brief also required everything unfinished and antique from floor to walls t... More

Victoria Beckham Store

The Victoria Beckham flagship store is located within a three-storey Georgian townhouse on Dover Street in London’s Mayfair and was designed by the architect Farshid Moussavi. Modelled on the typology of a gallery, it has a simple frameless glass frontage without a window display, encouraging views of a dramatic, three-storey interior. The design aims to provide the sense of transience, unpredictability and exploration that underpins fashion itself. A concrete door, cast as a negative of one of the windows of the Georgian façade above, slides open to give access to three floors within. Responding to the growth of online shopping, which allows fashion brands to provide customers with choice, the spatial experience of the Victo... More
