Pilot Transformation of a Collaborative Workplace

In downtown Montreal, a major office fit-out transforms several existing floors into a collaborative, hybrid work environment. Spread across three levels, the project rethinks areas previously organized as rows of enclosed offices and cubicles, adapting them to new ways of working that combine in-person and remote collaboration. Thomas Miau Thomas Miau The floors are largely opened up to create generous, light-filled spaces with views toward the downtown skyline, Old Montreal, the port and the river. A sequence of meeting rooms, flexible collaboration spaces, individual enclaves, focus areas and informal living zones with kitchenettes is woven between these open work areas, offering a calm but clearly legible gradient of uses. Spencer Ogden

Thanks to technology and international exposure, most companies today are highly globalised. A senior executive in the US may spend much of his day collaborating with his peer in the company’s office in China. Both executives speak the same language, use the same technology and operate on similar company values.   However, local cultural context still plays an important role in the way companies function. After the meeting, the executive in the US may go back to the open workspace, sit right next to a junior employee and take decisions consensually with his team. The executive in China, on the other hand, may still value his hierarchical standing, and prefer to work from his corner office. A forward-thinking company finds a way... More

Resalta Office Redesign

When Resalta changed its name from GGE, the company wanted to do more than redesign its brand. The management wanted to acknowledge its incredible growth and adopt a new brand identity to match it. For Resalta to attract top talent from the energy field, it needed workspaces that looked the part and its current offices weren’t up to the task. One of Resalta’s main challenges to achieving strategic goals was the state of their workplace. Could the environment in which we work be like this?   Imagine a workplace that supports productivity, stimulates creativity and takes care of our well-being. Places with plenty of vegetation and natural elements have a positive effect on creativity, work efficiency, motivation and stress reduction. We asked ourselves the question: “How co... More

Home-like office for Allegro

Home is a place where we return to. It gives us positive feelings, making us want to spend our time there. It is a place where we perform our daily duties, such as cooking, but above all else, it's where we relax. We share it with our loved ones, and is a warm place that we invite our friends and acquaintances to.On the other hand, an office connotes with a cold, uninviting space. It's a labyrinth of long corridors with no natural lighting, bland offices with unpleasant fluorescent light and noise, and unfamiliar co-workers hidden behind closed doors. Is this the kind of place where we enjoy working? Is this the kind of place we want to return to?What if the office could look and feel more like home? What if we use different finish material...
