This is one of the latest housing renovation QUADRATURA architects have finished in the center of Madrid (Spain). This is a house of 120 sq. m that has been more than 25 years without renewal, which meant having to perform a complete reform of the housing.
The owners needed mainly two large spaces, the living room and the kitchen, which turn them to be the major players in the housing. Also they need were three bedrooms and two bathrooms. They looked for a vintage look combining cream, brown and white colors.
The house entrance is a big space that integrates the hall, dining room and kitchen. For this reason, the kitchen became a showcase for the entire house, the first impression visitors and friends who come to this new home.
The kitchen is divided by a stunning workplace that separates the work area from the dining area. Also the joined existing terrace allowed to create a hidden area for laundry and storage area in the kitchen area. Also the kitchen has a wall made according to the dimensions of hydraulic tiles that provide a decorative effect to the kitchen and it matches perfectly with the other decorative elements of the house which combines the new with the old looking for a vintage effect.
The living room, the second most important element in the house, is separate from the entrance by one of the load-bearing walls running through the house. Highlighted in the living room there is a decorated wall with ceramic tiles and shelf made of plasterboard.
For the entire house, except the bathrooms, it’s used a laminate flooring of pieces of more than two meters long that favor the continuity of living spaces and adds warmth to the atmosphere.
In the bathrooms, tiles and painting are combined to create a simple and functional spaces. Highlights the main bathroom configuration which uses the space of the old terrace, added to the bathroom, to create a bath area where the tub is main piece.
