For the new location of the Swedish home department store in Zwolle, Metadecor covered the facade with MD Lamel and an aluminum composite cladding. The IKEA site on the Hessenpoort business park has a surface area of approximately 30,000 m² of floor space and a parking garage for around 1,000 cars. This IKEA is a pilot store for a new layout of the IKEA store concept.
The slats are of type MD LA120. This means that they are double-walled slats with separate chambers, creating a robust and very stiff slat. Because of the rooms, this type has a span of up to 6 meters. The slats and cladding are blindly attached with our MD Resto fasting system and provided with the recognizable Ikea blue color by powder coating.
