Far removed from Bali’s garish mass tourism, LOST LINDENBERG is a new guest collective hotel concept. Part of the Pekutatan community, a small Hindu village on Bali’s west coast largely untouched by tourism, the retreat is surrounded by temples, jungle, and near famous Medewi Surf Point.

With an emphasis on the collective experience of guests, visitors can take in peace and quiet in open-plan communal spaces and activities from yoga under a pergola to bonfires on the beach. Guests can also meet for conversations and opulent meals around solid, seven-meter-long feature wooden tables.

A retreat is offered in each of the eight rooms, which are elevated high amongst the West Balinese palm jungle treetops. The 45m2 suites are all furnished with contemporary art, sustainable linen bedding, custom-made Gaya ceramics, air conditioning, and spacious bathrooms. In addition, guests can catch a glimpse of the waves from each treehouse.

In addition to the nearby Medewi Surf Point, which attracts surfers of all levels, the hotel’s LOST BEACH offers a secluded and little-known place to surf. Board made through an in-house collaboration with Pyzel Surfboards are available for hire.

Finally, a small spa is situated in LOST’s surrounding jungle. Offering Balinese massages and a range of treatments inspired by local rituals, the spa is built in the style of a gladak, a traditional wooden house of the region originally used for storing crops.
