In Oslo, Norwegian jewelry brand Tom Wood has opened its refurbished flagship store featuring a visionary, minimalist concept developed in a collaboration between the brand and Swedish design architecture office Specific Generic.
Having previously collaborated in 2020, this latest space reflects Tom Wood’s approach to contemporary jewelry, its commitment to sustainable solutions and minimalist design.
Taking a thoughtful approach to functionality, Specific Generic worked closely with Tom Wood’s Creative Director, Mona Jensen, and CEO, Morten Isachsen, to design the flagship from a nomadic and transformative point of view. As such, durable and recyclable materials such as aluminum and steel feature throughout, thus allowing the brand to remake or recycle in years to come.
At the centre of the space is an 18-meter-long flexible wall that integrates moveable cabinets, mirrors, and LED screens. The innovative concept allows displays to be easily changed as desired, thus bringing flexibility to the store’s displays. Customer experience and journey have also been carefully thought out in a way that allows each visitor to engage with the jewelry pieces directly and meaningfully.
“We are beyond excited to welcome jewelry enthusiasts, architectural connoisseurs, and our cherished customers to our new flagship store,” says Morten Isachsen, CEO of Tom Wood. “This store is not just a retail space; it’s a celebration of our brand’s journey, our commitment to artistic innovation, and our dedication to offering jewellery that becomes a part of people’s stories.”
