Aperture SkyCeilings are research-verified circular or elliptical virtual skylights that modify our perception of planar relationships through a multisensory oculus that heightens the spatial plausibility of open sky. The product generates a therapeutic and restorative experience of perceived open space in enclosed interiors. The product has a unique mechanical design unlike any other virtual skylight on the market. The image panel is affixed to a hidden mechanical wall above the perimeter trim leaving an unseen gap (interstice) that reinforces the depth illusion. Aperture is recessed into the ceiling, backlit by daylight-quality LED modules (available in 3’ to 5’ diameters and two elliptical sizes, 4’ x 6’ and 5’ X 8’).
