During the Stockholm Furniture Fair 2018, we introduce the two new acoustic panels, BAUX Panel Arch and BAUX Panel Curve. To bridge the gap between classical and modern we had to explore past the linear. To shape vast decors for monumental interiors, auditoriums and stretching hallways we needed to go in all directions. The result? Two new panels with a fluid design capable of twisting and turning the linear grids of the five original panels.
In early 2015, we introduced the original BAUX Acoustic Panels.
Our idea – to shape something timeless, functional with endless combinations.The linear grid made it possible for us to create a modular system, retaining the sequence of design in both large and small environment.
When we got the idea of exploring the linear sequence further, we started looking for inspiration in classic architecture and in monumental design from the past. Big interiors and large spaces built for culture and worship filled us with inspiration. From the paved linear bricks of auditoriums to the vast ceilings of cloisters and cathedrals arching majestically. Places of beauty, excellent acoustics and calm tranquillity.
We started experimenting with shapes and geometry with the goal to reinterpret the lines and shapes of monumental building and classical architecture. We wanted to combine the traditional and timeless elements with the modern day function. BAUX Acoustic Wood Wool Panels is about transforming large spaces with remarkable designs. Combine all existing panels, build big in any direction and create something extraordinary, combining classical elements of design with the function of tomorrows building material.
BAUX Acoustic Panels are made from of the same natural materials as BAUX Tiles – wood wool, cement and water. The difference is that we’ve created larger building tiles, measuring 1160×580cm, so it’s even easier to design beautiful sustainable acoustic designs for large-scale spaces.
