Applications
Primarily used for external pitched roof insulation (on rafters), suitable when interior finishes must remain untouched or rafter spacing is unsuitable for traditional insulation.
Composition
- Upper reflective and highly vapor-permeable membrane
- 37 mm compressible layer of moisture-proof polyester fiber
- Layer of dry air bubbles enclosed in polyethylene
- Lower 30-micron pure aluminum film, oxidation-treated
The upper reflective membrane reduces summer overheating, while the lower aluminum film retains winter heat. The polyester wadding and trapped air bubble layer effectively slow energy transfer by conduction.
