The UK’s largest manufacturer of office furniture and workplace solutions, The Senator Group, has launched Destination, an innovative seating solution designed to adapt and transform the function of transport terminals.

Jonathan Prestwich created destinationfor The Senator Group’sAllermuirbrand.Designed to bring innovation, maximise comfort and increaseproductivity at transport terminals, Destinationis the next step in developing transport terminal space.

The innovative new design provides passengers with a higher level of comfort, utilising passive ergonomic design to optimise comfort and relaxation with integrated electrical power. It includes optional screens to enhance light and acoustics for those using electrical devices, partitions for those needingfocus, peace and privacy in open plan lounges, and a High Power Table and cable management device for those who wish to keep working as they wait.

Robert Mustoe, managing director at The Senator Group, said: “The rapid evolution of technology has increased the accessibility of entertainment and leisure facilities wherever we go.The increased use of mobile devices means that we now adapt communal seating areas to complement the impact of modern technology.

“Many passengers now treat travel not as an activity isolated from their daily routine, but a part of life that blends into their work or leisure time, and so do not want their plans to be put on hold as they wait in the transitional period for transport. “Our new design anticipates the future of travelling, where the lounge becomes a destination in itself, where passengers can continue to be creative and productivity can thrive.”

“Improving the flexibility and portability of furniture in spacious lounges allows planners and designers to accommodate the varying needs of differenttypes of travellers. The Senator Group launchofthe Allermuir Destination product demonstrates adaptabilityformany users, with different zones for individuals, couples, families and large groups.

Research was undertaken with global architectural leaders within the Aviation and Transportation sector to ensure the products caters for passengers needs today and in the future.
