SOREL Presents Pre-Assembled Compact Unit ”DrainSet“ for Solar Thermal Drain-Back Systems
Just in time for the solar season, SOREL launches the DrainSet, a plug and play package for selfemptying solar systems. It consists of a 40l box for up to 40m² collector surface, high-efficiency pump, preset TDC controller and various fittings. For larger solar installations, the DrainSet can be extended easily by connecting additional collection tanks.
„Besides the typical advantages of drain-back technology, it is finally fast and easy to install, thus saving several hours of assembly work”, as the technical director Christian Zänker explains. He names the enhanced system protection from overheating and air inclusions as key benefits of drain-back systems, as well as the option to run it glycol-free which in turn reduces the maintenance effort and permits higher energy yields.
The DrainSet raises the attractiveness of drain-back systems also from a commercial perspective. “Besides the regular pumping station, also the expansion vessel, separate mounting material and more are redundant. Thus, when taking everything into account, drain-back systems reach a similar price level as conventional solar systems, but with all the advantages on top”, Zänker says.
