Utilizing a unique combination of of antique kelim flatweaving mixed with hand-cut wool pile, Flats II is easily one of Fort Street Studio’s most innovative rugs. Juxtaposing pile and flat weave together creates an interesting relief that has a sophisticated texture and a traditional look and feel. The design is constructed into the rug, creating a playful mix of high-low. Yarns are completely hand-processed and hand-dyed, and the lanolin-rich wool produces beautiful, naturally-occurring abrash. Subtle shades of blue and grey work in all decor styles, be it traditional, eclectic, or modern.
