Light Over Time (LoT) is a family of appliances that, with an intuitive software, permits light to be modified and flow inspired by nature. LoT is the most recent result of Tapio Rosenius's collaboration with Artemide. The Finnish designer, director of the Lighting Design Collective in Madrid, has created a range of floodlights that make it possible to design and modulate space with a living light that is mutable and variable in time. This system is based on the concept of biomimetics, an approach to innovation that seeks sustainable solutions by emulating the strategies of nature, with the aim of producing light that changes and flows in a natural way. The mellow and unique effects of natural light are produced by an intuitive piece of software and obtained in real time by a single data processor that instantaneously calculates schemes, patterns and luminous effects.
The LoT software is the first immaterial product of Artemide, an innovative management intelligence that allows to make the most of the potentials of physical products while providing a more modern, exhaustive and versatile response to design and application requirements.
