Ratchadaphisek road, which is a suburban but also high-density residential area. The owners bought and renovated the house as they felt that the house isn’t too far from where they reside, which is a couple of sois closed by. The main character of this house is it is a corner townhome unit with approximately 1 meter triangular-shape space along the side of the house, which makes this townhome unit more open, relative to the area.
The owners’ essential requirements are privacy, safety, and elder friendliness. Therefore, the outside’s decoration is quite concealing to create more privacy. Interior design concept emphasizes on voids to make the house more open and to maximize incoming natural light and breeze.
Since the house faces west, the afternoon sun would project directly to the front of the house. While it could heat the house, however, in the same direction, the house could also gain maximum wind. These two factors essentially affect the design and eventually lead to its façade. The perforated aluminum sheets are used to screen out the sun and filter in natural breeze. These perforated aluminum sheets can also be closed or opened as the dwellers’ needs for any interactions with the surrounding neighborhood.
