A Small Home, A Big Transformation

This renovation reimagined the smallest home on the block into a stunning four-story residence that fully embraces its steep lot and expansive views of Twin Peaks.

Originally a modest single-story home, the space was transformed for a British family of four seeking a modern, functional layout. We placed the main living areas on the top floor to capture the best views, added a cantilevered deck with large sliding doors for indoor-outdoor flow, and introduced a floating staircase that brings light and movement through the home.

The lower levels were customized to the family’s lifestyle, including a music room, direct hot tub access from the shower, and smart storage solutions. A rooftop deck, accessed via a hatch, offers an intimate spot to enjoy the city skyline.

By maximizing vertical space and enhancing indoor-outdoor connections, this project turned a small, outdated house into a dynamic, light-filled home tailored to modern living.
