A Dialogue Between Eras, a sophisticated residential renovation, masterfully blends 1920s architectural heritage with contemporary living in Rome's historic Quartiere delle Vittorie. The design philosophy creates a poetic narrative between the building's structural memory, modern minimalist interventions, and the client's extensive private collection of classical art, antique furniture, and vintage glassware. Exposed raw reinforced concrete beams, load-bearing columns, and central heating pipes are intentionally preserved alongside crisp, modern plasterboard geometries, honoring the original 1920s construction.
The flooring seamlessly integrates reclaimed 1920s cementine floor tiles with contemporary parquet and sleek black resin accented with delicate copper inserts, creating a tactile timeline across the home. Light filters continuously through restored Liberty-style stained glass panels and a custom architect-designed geometric partition, shaping the atmosphere. Bespoke interior insertions, including a deep black kitchen, custom illuminated display cases, and a dramatic black velvet acoustic curtain, create a quiet, functional, and highly tailored backdrop, elevating the home's historic craftsmanship while adapting the footprint for modern daily life. Completed in 2025, this 140m2 residential apartment in Rome showcases a harmonious blend of historical character, spatial fluidity, and refined modern aesthetics.
