“Rassegna Architettura Arco Alpino 2016: Learning from the Alps”: this is the name of the exposition the Acropoli Association has designed, reproposing the Review designed by the Associazione Architetti Arco Alpino, the Ordine degli Architetti PPC of the Province of Trento and the architecture magazine Turris Babel.

The exhibition was launched on 13 March 2018 and was visitable for one month; it occupied the inner spaces of the DICAM, University of Trento. It represented a great occasion for students and designers to discuss and deal with the alpine contest, which is often an investigated topic for students in the city.

The 13 panels forming the representation were situated on different floors, in particular in the octagonal gathering places of the building. The idea was to guide the visitor into this itinerary which wanted to bring to the guest’s mind the topic of the mountain. This was clearly innested through the rising itinerary till the highest floor of the building.

The panels represented 20 works selectioned by a jury (del Premio). All these unique works interact and dialogue with the surrounding contest in which they are located.

In addition, the exhibition presented two more panels functioning as introduction and conclusion of the system:

they were thought as guide through the exhibition and as innovative product designed by the group within the Association.

The students were warmly invited to present their own project developed during the university courses which often deal with the alpine contest.

The innovative product of the system was its installation: it was a tridimensional representation of the alpine area. This model was fixed on a wall at the beginning of the exhibition and represented a synthesis of the entire exhibition. The model was formed by thin wooden sheets, which were juxtaposed forming a tridimensional grid, representing the Italian alpine area. The different layers were obtained through the use of a laser cutter in the Prom factory of Rovereto. The result was a tridimensional map of the alpine area, in which were collocated and represented all the exhibited works.
