“The nest” is an exhibition system ideated by a group of students within the associazione Acropoli for the single seater car created by E-Agle Trento Racing Team. The single seater was designed to compete in the Formula SAE.
The need of the E-Agle team was to value their single seater during the motor show through an incisive exhibitor. Furthermore, the team wanted the system to be easily mounted and dismounted in order to be used during different occasions. The stand was firstly exposed during the Bologna Motor Show 2017 in december.
The concept of the design is the nest. This form was developed and modeled in order to transmit the idea of speed, fundamental characteristic of the single seater. Another aspect of the project is layering: the system is defined through the alternation of matt and transparent layers which are emphasized through the use of series of lights. These lights reminds to a photograph representing car's headlights and taken with a long exposure time. The structure and the geometry of the project are strictly linked to the machinery ability of prom laboratory from Rovereto. The group has worked in cooperation with it during the execution.
The exhibition system is composed by 9 tubolar steel profiles, bended in a U shape. The layering system, obtained through the use of a laser cutter, is consequently fitted in these steel profiles.
The project is completed by a series of cube-shaped exhibitors whose aspect reminds to the vehicle frame. These elements are designed as versatile objects, in order to be used in different contests. On the frame some metal surfaces are fixed to support the exposed elements.
