Born as a spin-off of a well-established Shanghai restaurant, Gelateria Allora is a tasty new franchise serving traditional Italian ice cream, innovative gelato shakes and coffee. Q&A took charge of the brand’s new visual identity and interior design by developing a unique main concept and all additional graphic design features.
Q&A followed construction and all design aspects of Allora’s first branch in Shanghai Wujiaochang. This created a standard and set of architectural and branding guidelines to address the expansion of multiple stores in China.
Ice-cream is all about fun! Starting from a palette of colors inspired by the product itself; and from a set of abstract shapes loosely recalling the universe of old-fashioned ice cream stores, the design blends all these elements together and condenses them in a futuristic, spaceship-like space.
The main attraction of the place the product itself. The backlit perforated steel panels on the ceiling and accent wall define the space as an ever-changing background. It allows for a variety of color transitions including light yellow, green, pink, red, and blue that define an atmosphere which is simultaneously sleek and dreamy.
