The renovation of this 66m² apartment, located in Porto Alegre, aimed primarily to adapt the original compartmentalized two-bedroom layout to the lifestyle of the young couple who owns it. Attracted by the privileged location and the view of Lake Guaíba, the residents sought a space that would reflect their needs and desires. To achieve this, the strategy adopted was to almost completely reconfigure the internal divisions, prioritizing the social area and creating a spacious, fluid, and naturally well-lit environment.

The integration of one of the bedrooms into the social area resulted in a study space where the work desk connects to the dining table, totaling six meters in length. Next to this table, a black cabinet accommodates books and objects on one side, while discreetly and functionally embedding the refrigerator on the other. Below the window that frames the view of Lake Guaíba, a basalt fireplace also serves as a support counter for the barbecue, creating a cozy environment conducive to relaxation. In front of the sofa, a large sideboard fulfills multiple functions, serving as support for the TV, bar, and even as a bench.

In the private area, the suite gained amplitude by incorporating the space of the former circulation between the rooms, providing a generous wardrobe. The old bathroom of the auxiliary bedroom was transformed into a guest bathroom, optimizing the apartment's functionality. These interventions demonstrate the architects' ability to rethink spaces, adapting them to the specific demands of the residents and creating a personalized, comfortable, and efficient home.
