A subtle symphony of materials and light resonates within Aura Office, where every surface, texture, and shadow engages in quiet dialogue. Rather than commanding attention, the space invites reflection. Conceived as more than a workplace, the studio functions as a walkable material library, an experiential environment in which architecture is not displayed but lived. Each room adopts a distinct architectural language, allowing clients and designers alike to experience varied atmospheres, material expressions, and spatial moods in real time. Together, these diverse zones form a cohesive narrative, with each space contributing to the larger story of design.
The site’s existing character was carefully preserved. Original flooring remains, and earlier wall placements were respected, allowing memory and history to stay embedded within the architecture. Instead of erasure, the design gently layers over what existed before, creating continuity between past and present.
Underlying this multiplicity is a quiet cosmological order that shapes the studio’s conceptual identity as Aura Cosmos. Drawing from the ancient Indian concept of Navgraha, the design interprets planetary forces as spatial energies rather than symbolic references, allowing each zone to carry a distinct temperament while remaining part of a unified whole.
The open working studio forms the energetic heart of the office, aligned with Surya (Sun) and Bhumi (Earth). Brick-patterned walls meet a ceiling of wooden bar stripes, while planters and custom bookshelves punctuate the space, maximising storage and softening material edges. The layout remains deliberately open, with workstations oriented to face east, welcoming natural light and allowing its gradual shifts to set the rhythm of the workspace. Ventilation flows freely, and a balcony extends the studio outward, bringing in air, greenery, and expansive views.
The principal architect’s studio adopts a layered and introspective temperament, guided by Varun (Neptune). Rooted in rustic industrial brutalism, the room is defined by raw concrete surfaces and a restrained grey and black palette. A cantilevered black table floats without touching the floor, opening the space for movement beneath it. Here, discipline, depth, and quiet authority are expressed through material restraint and spatial clarity rather than overt expression. Subtle panelling introduces warmth without diluting the room’s contemplative gravity.
Across the corridor, the Japandi-style office offers a moment of calm, shaped by Chandra (Moon). Rattan-fronted cabinetry lines the walls, while a sculpted moon crafted in Plaster of Paris glows softly, creating a meditative atmosphere where work slows into reflection and balance.
The director’s room presents a more expansive and composed language, aligned with Guru (Jupiter). Fabric-panelled walls provide acoustic comfort and tactile refinement, supporting leadership, decision-making, and long-term vision. The space remains understated yet assured, reflecting growth, wisdom, and stability rather than visual dominance.
In the conference room, guided by Shukra (Venus), harmony becomes the organising principle. A wooden grid ceiling brings rhythm and proportion, while integrated storage and flexible seating encourage collaboration, dialogue, and consensus. The room balances function with comfort, allowing conversations to unfold with ease and mutual respect.
A dedicated material library anchors one corner of the studio, associated with Budh (Mercury), where pivoted shutters transform static storage into an interactive display. This zone supports exchange, learning, and adaptability, reinforcing the studio’s identity as a living archive of material knowledge.
Movement through the office unfolds along passages and corridors conceived as the Milky Way, a connective continuum that binds all planetary zones together. These transitional spaces choreograph experience, guiding users through shifting atmospheres while maintaining a sense of unity and flow.
Aura Office is an exploration of multiplicity held in balance, suggesting that meaningful architecture emerges not from uniformity but from intention, understanding, and coexistence, where space, material, and human experience align in quiet harmony.
