NCUBE Planning and Design Pvt. Ltd. as Interior Architects

The AWFIS project is located in BandraKurla Complex (BKC), the commercial hub of Mumbai, India. BKC is like a school of corporate workplaces and has a huge contribution in transforming the cityscape of Mumbai.

NCUBE’s journey with AWFIS began with the latter’s inception and in this span of a little over 2 years, together, the brand has grown and transformed multiple times to evolve with the needs of the working population. The combined efforts at responding to the constant developments in the co-working space has led the brands to emerge as one of the best in the nation.

The project exhibits the Industrial Chic design vocabulary- an aesthetic trend in interior design that takes clues from old factories and industrial spaces which in recent years have been converted to lofts and other living spaces. The pendant lights adorning the collab zone translates the space into an informal lounge. For more acoustically critical discussions, there are two meeting pods and a phone booth.

Collab zone - a perfect frame for the reception

The collabzone sets a dramatic backdrop for the reception, creating porosity in the space that defines transparency, opportunity and ease of communication. Every layer is carefully designed and curated, from furniture, lights, flooring to the ceiling. The space is designed to adapt to various activity-based functions, from touch down to ad-hoc discussions, community space to a town hall gathering-all of it coming together to define a truly collaborative space.

Cabins - a space for your working needs

The cabins are spaces that allow the user to work in good acoustic and visual comfort.

Meeting rooms- a space to ideate and execute

As part of the central collab zone, the meeting rooms maintain the formal atmosphere of the space which has been achieved by choosing the right seating, appropriate lux levels, coupling it with materials such as cork and fabric paneling for the right acoustics. The spaces sport industrial materials like raw wood, industrial light fittings, Brooklyn glazed partitions and texture paint.

Growth is definitely NCUBE’sconstant with an AWFIS project, lending both entities the constant need for evolution to meet the needs of growing India in the co-working space.
