Offstage as Architects

The apartment, in an eighteenth-century building in the heart of Milan, was in a state of complete abandonment and dilapidated. Despite this, the original structure appeared intact and suggested an intervention of a philological nature, recovering all the elements of the past integrating them with a few contemporary elements necessary to make the unit habitable for a family of five.

The oak nailed parquet - intentionally not stuccoed - the tiles in cement grits and the lining of the internal doors and external doors and windows interact with the contemporary layout and small architectural interventions functional to answer to technicalconstructive needs - such as the system of counter-walls that hide the systems - redefining the spaces and favoring a current interpretation of the genius loci.
