Located overlooking the San Dieguito Lagoon, which is on the western side of the San Dieguito River Park, the Birdwing Open Air Classroom was designed as a place to provide open-air educational opportunities for all ages about tidal wetland restoration.

Rigidized® Metals Corporation provided the perforated, deep-textured metal sheets that make up the sun shade piece of this project. The metal is 16 gauge 316 stainless steel in 2B finish, perforated, and rolled with Rigidized® Metals’ pattern 6WL®.This structure is designed to meet the needs of the community while fitting into the natural landscape of the San Dieguito Lagoon.
