"Landing on the waters of Lake Como like a boat, a villa celebrates its industrial past with rugged, contemporary, and urban finishes and solutions."

Breakwater Griante is the result of the renovation of a small-to-medium boat factory located on the shores of Lake Como.

Since 1921, this building has been home to the Cramar shipyard of the Cranchi brothers, which has been active on the lake since the mid-19th century and which, over the years, has produced inboard motorboats, cabin cruisers, sailing boats, rowing boats, and rowing boats.

The volumes and basic appearance of the original building remain, which today appears geometrically linear. Since this was a renovation, the design of the new building was limited to maintaining the existing volume, redistributing it in full compliance with the client's needs and requests.

Noteworthy details include the Moltrasio stone pillars; the rest of the building is intentionally contemporary. The building's aesthetic is more reminiscent of an urban loft than a vacation home: it features a rugged, industrial décor, featuring gray reclaimed wood and stained oak for the floors and paneling; resins, concrete, and iron fixtures contrast with the delicate landscape.

Breakwater Griante extends over three levels:
- Lake level with the living area: kitchen, living room, gym equipped with

Technogym machines, spa, billiards table, a spacious

dining room, and a covered terrace.
- The first and second floors are dedicated to the suites, each with a private bathroom and lake-view terraces.

A 350-square-meter terrace surrounds the ground floor, where the pool and solarium are located, furnished with Royal Botania lounge chairs and beds.
