Bucktown

This translational home was newly built in Chicago's Bucktown neighborhood in 2009. A young family purchased the home with the idea of making a home for their growing family. Because they are artistic, as well as practical, we selected furnishings and art to completely satisfy both needs.

The idea of one-of-a kind elements is always important when we design the interiors for a home. This one is no exception. We travel to obtain ideas as well as the perfect artifacts, rugs and furnishings for our discerning clientele. This home includes rugs from turkey, sculpture, drawings and an oversized lucite table from Argentina, fabric from Belgium and Han Dynasty pottery from China.

In the family room we creatively used 200-year-old beams from Uruguay as a coffee table. Allowing the family to sit, eat and children to play on the "jungle gym" type piece. The antique rug in the master bedroom was placed in the bedroom merely because the clients fell in love when we presented it for the home. We had no idea in which room this would live, however the look and feel was perfect for our design direction and was the inspiration for the entire room.
