Cafe Ha(a)itza

Ha Café (a) Itza, emblematic place Basin Arcachon, will welcome its first guests in late June 2015. First stage before the reopening of the Hotel Ha (a) Itza in 2016. The site was taken over by William and Sophie Techouyeres already at the origin of the rebirth of a another pearl of the Basin, the Hotel La Co (o) rniche. The two institutions also share some similarities: in the same street, in Pyla, a Haïtza was built in the 30s by Louis Gaume, the The same time as Co (o) rniche. This grand building neo-Basque architecture is part of the memory collective inhabitants of Pyla.


Driven by the desire to preserve and make revive the soul of the country, William and Sophie Techouyeres want to breathe a second life in Ha (a) Itza, by providing that little extra soul which makes them strength and success: a blend of usability, simplicity and proximity. The goal: to give back to this hotel its old panache. A new collaboration with Philippe Starck imposed as obvious. Unconditional lovers Bassin d'Arcachon, just like William and Sophie Techouyeres, designer, instigator of the already The renovation Co (o) rniche, has captured their cravings and customize the site to their image.


Ha Café (a) Itza cultivates a simple atmosphere and relaxed. A light wood dressing up places ceiling. Indoor and terrace: cedar furniture and imposing marble guest tables. The floor is decorated briquettes and mosaic cement tiles elegant and colorful. Philippe Starck has designed the central bars, for more usability: the site aims to be a point of rendezvous for Basin residents, vacationers and tourists, a place for exchanges and meetings.


The indoor dining room has 80 seats, 170 outdoor. Serving: a very feminine brigade, loyal to William Techouyeres years. On the menu: fresh and simple dishes, " like home ". The card is renewed every day depending on the market and still has four suggestions: a rotisserie, a grill, a dish and cooked fish. The formulas remain affordable, with a range between € 28 and € 35.
