Carosello food court follows the refurbishment and extension project that One Works has held for the Carosello Commercial center in Carugate

The new food court is the last step of a radical transformation. The design moves around three specific themes: the environmental quality, the dimensional quality, and the retail quality offered. The food court is an urban-scaled covered plaza; ceiling heights reach 12 meters and three important oval skylights flood the space with natural light. The redefinition of the central facade included the insertion of a large, natural stone and glass finished volume running for more than 70 meters in length. Proportions of the new space, defined in relation to the size of the public spaces of the historic cities, are more similar to classic dimensions than to contemporary retail venues. Besides the shopping center, it is itself a destination, potentially a place to be at night as well.
