The challenge was to design a single-story house on this rugged terrain that would relate to the external space and its native vegetation on the northeast and northwest borders.

After understanding the opportunities of the land, the project was organized, firstly, into two large blocks, the social and the intimate block, being parallel to the respective lateral boundaries of the land that intersect. The difference in the heights of the blocks indicates this programmatic division and shapes the volume of the project. In addition to this, we explored the plans of slabs and cantilevered volumes, such as the one that advances on the front facade where the closet and bathroom of the master suite are located.

To comply with condominium legislation regarding earth movement, the house was divided into three levels. On the first level, 1.50m above the street level, there is the garage and social access with a large cantilevered slab. The second level is 1.20m above the access level and houses the residence's internal program, that is, the service, social and intimate spaces, meeting the clients' request that the house be ground floor. The social area located in the center of the house exposes the hierarchy of environments with its two-room living room with double height, integrating the blocks with the gourmet balcony. The living room space has a lighting strip on the front facade that allows you to see the sky at all times. The four suites were designed in a block facing the morning sun and allowing a view of the treetops of the native forest next door.

The pool was carefully designed to take advantage of the difference in level, as, together with the solarium, it is located on the third level of the house, 1.08m above the level of the house. In this way, we designed a pool with an infinity edge and a reflecting pool on the lower level, which is directly integrated with the balcony and its external space.

The implementation of the residence sought to provide better environmental comfort for the environments with adequate orientation and allowing cross ventilation in all environments, reducing energy consumption and increasing efficiency. Furthermore, the house has a solar water heating system for the bathrooms and swimming pool and photovoltaic panels to generate electricity.
