The main challenge of the project was to transform a closed and fragmented home into an open, bright space connected to the outside, without losing functionality or comfort for family life. The original layout limited the relationship between the rooms and the garden. The house felt small, despite its size, with underused elements such as the outdoor porch, and a lack of passageways and connections between rooms.
The project thus became a true and inspiring California Dreaming.
We intervened in the social spaces of the house, knocking down walls to free up the floor plan and create a large social space where the kitchen, dining room and living room coexisted without limits, extending towards the terrace and swimming pool. The new floor-to-ceiling windows blurr the limits between inside and outside and allowing the house to breathe in tune with the garden.
The interior atmosphere was built on a clear and luminous base, dotted with touches of colour that evoke Californian vitality. The furniture, with contemporary lines and nods to Nordic design, brings balance, modernity, warmth and functionality. Every detail reinforces that feeling of naturalness, spaciousness and outdoor living.
Outside, we incorporated a semi-covered terrace with auxiliary kitchen and toilet, expanding the possibilities for using the garden and turning it into the true heart and engine of everyday life.
The result is a radical transformation: a home that leaves rigidity behind and opens up to the sun, conviviality and enjoyment.
