Lake House is located next to a preserved rainforest area, within a gated community in Salvador/Bahia -Brazil. The property was developed with most of its floor area on one level. The building sits discretely on a sloped site, making the most of its unique position in an area of outstanding natural beauty.

The contemporary design approach of this home integrates harmoniously into its natural contours of the site, complementing the setting. Its modular shapes and forms are interlinked by a transparent corridor allowing natural light and nature into the rooms. The whole house is surrounded by an artificial pond which creates a mirroring effect of the nature as well as giving the feeling of a flouting building.

The plan of the Lake House split into two wings, on the west side you will find the kitchen, service areas and the master bedroom. The east wing hosts a living space, dining room and two on-suites. A smaller and more intimate area is located below the dining and sitting rooms which has a wine cellar and a home theater. The wings are separated by the main hall with direct garden access and its attractive view over the lake invites you to the breathtaking surrounding.

The garden has been designed to provide additional entertainment space which includes a BBQ terrace, a pool table room and a guest room, beautifully located next to the lake and a swimming pool. This building was covered with a green roof in order to disguise and merge it into the landscape, whilst a sandstone path was beautifully laid on the grass, connecting this area to the main house.
