An apartment on the first floor of Palazzo Crocini, former residence of the Vescovo of Pistoia and Prato, Alessandro Caccia, from the fifteenth century ... "we will surely find the paintings." The history of this project is all enclosed in this first initial reflection: the paintings were actually found, perhaps even more beautiful than imagined. The point is that absolutely did not want to limit ourselves to contemplate coolly what history has left us. Design in a historic building is an opportunity to reflect on whether or not to understand what we can sacrifice, what can we save and what we can exploit. It is about making choices. We have chosen to establish a dialogue with the pre-existence. We believe that the best solution is never to remove and deny what exists and so we looked for a close dialogue while enjoying the contemporary project. A sincere speech, where contemporary design has its own identity but seeks no denying the existing one. Small objects are placed almost on tiptoe, light and suspended because never intrusive ... is present, but not brash. The large wooden cabinet, and what it contains, is the synthesis of everything: located in the center of the house, organizes and suggest new features. And 'in the enclosed space inside the cabinet that the project reveals its true vocation: a completely silent space colored blue ... an intimate space where you think, alone ... to dream and work. The blue study marks a transformation, is the embryo of a new, different, direction ... from now on the future of this site will be BLUE?
