The steel windows of this 40 years old office building were unisolated and filled with double glass which was leeking. To meet the requirements of 2022 an energylable C is mandatory. In 2030 a energy lable A is required.
A perferct moment to make a sustainable renovation. At first we research a replacement of all windows by isolated aluminium windows. This proofed a expensive option, also due to restoration on the inside. This way the idea was created to keep the current steel window frames. This circulair idee led to an upgrade trough a redesign of the originel Jansen profile. ReUse of the excisting window frame. In cooperation with Jansen the details were made. Thus providing a solution for triple glass and frame which was applicable for subsidy. Not only is this a big step for circulair steel window frames it is also a big step in the energy transition.
