Located on a well-known boulevard, this residential tower incorporates various scales of materials through the interplay of a delicately layered façade, finely interweaving like an embedded jewel threaded in stone. Light, metal lineworks intricately weave shifting balconies to create a lattice of figural forms. As an armature, this system elegantly transforms a vertical window system into horizontal canopies; marking the building’s entry and transforming it to become a roof terrace.
These gestural shapes are embedded across the façade through a delicate stitching of glass, metal, and stone, embedding daylight screens and lighting. We view the façade through this relationship, creating opacities from a layering of materials and finding modularity through variation. These elements are carefully interwoven, accentuating the architecture with an approach that is both dynamic and refined, and yet has the character of a precious artwork.
