EYE DOTS

Atelier JMCA as Interior Architects

This opticians’ store was designed to highlight the product itself – glasses – as much as possible. Whatever the shape, brand or cost, the aim is to make each pair of glasses attractive through their particularities and specific features.

This performance is also the result of the chosen display method itself. Glasses are arranged and lit in a certain way to focus only on one pair of glasses at a time, as if we were looking at some precious item in a jewelry box, without looking at the other product next to it.

Glasses are displayed on individual shelves, in staggered rows. Precise lighting, made of LED luminous lines, is used underneath each shelf.

Wood – in this case, oak – is the main material in the project. It brings a sense of warmth and elegance to the room, with its texture and strong presence. It makes up for the very simple and plain architectural lines of the project.

Furniture brings touches of colors. For instance, seats contrast with the white environment. The latter fully fades to emphasize on the colorful and textured product itself.

The whole display units and furniture are custom-made designs. They were made to comply with practical and technical requirements of opticians: renewal and seasonality of products, stock management in the store, display and highlight of tinted glass, products security with integrated antitheft systems on individual shelves.
