Spread across 20,000sqft, and designed by Studio Arquite, this residence exemplifies the modern urban home for a family of four set amidst the blanket of trees. Born from Kashmiri roots, the family's love of automobiles, and the client's amazing collection of cars, automobiles, bags, and everything collectible, the farmhouse has been conceived and designed keeping in mind both privacy and togetherness. They desired a layout that would enhance the visual connection among the family members at all times, while at the same time allowing them to seclude themselves.

Based on the intent, the architecture was developed with specific functional blocks that were strategically placed together to encourage interaction. In addition to connecting the functional blocks physically, the long-landscaped corridor allowed the design team to create internal gardens providing appropriate levels of privacy and views, wherein an internal court serves as both a climatological feature and strong aesthetic element. 

Further, a 200-foot pool surrounds the common areas, visually integrating them with the living spaces. The minimal palette of concrete white and wood provides a beautiful backdrop to the extensive landscape. Despite its minimal design, the architectural expression thrives on its details. 

In the interiors, the materials are minimal and aligned with the natural surroundings. The marble flooring captures reflections whereas wood accents add a glamorous touch to the rooms. A strong sense of belonging to the family's Kashmiri roots reflects in every porcelain artefact arrangement, accents and painting. Through the use of full height sliding panels that provide transparency, the landscape naturally extends into the interior.

As rightly said by Anais Nin, "Luxury is not a necessity to me, but beautiful and good things are." The farmhouse thus exhibits luxury and minimalism while being surrounded by nature, creating a sense of unity.
