Located within the PacificLink Business Park, a developing 83-acre “urban industrial” park, is a new 48,000SF warehouse facility. Taylor Kurtz, working with a very specific prototypical client program and set of architectural guidelines, took the opportunity to introduce simple yet sophisticated gestures to create a more urban aesthetic to a very simple building typology. The expanse of glazing to the office element provides benefit for the occupants through natural light while offering a level of implied transparency to the solid architectural form. The main entry is elegantly defined by a linear procession under a floating canopy that continues through a vertical tower to signify arrival and a place for client identity. The horizontal lines of the project provided through its form and architectural elements allow it to subtlety blend into the surrounding environment.
